Present day Buddhism in Russia within the structure of Buddhist civilization

Abstract

The article dwells on the peculiarities of Buddhism as the first religion. Tolerance of Buddhism and the acceptance of new concepts and notions by it has created a unique single civilization, which incorporated different directions, schools, national forms of Buddhism, typical of Kalmykian, Buryatian and Tuva Buddhism in Russia. At the beginning of XX c. (with a lengthy disruption) and at the end of XX-beginning XXI centuries Buddhism actively breaks the borders of its Canon territories and continues to win positions in the European part of Russia, by this way enriching its spiritual culture.
