Abstract

The article dwells on the problem of reception of elements of ancient culture and philosophy (texts by Plato, in the first turn) by St. Gregory Palamas and a change in his views in the course of his theological polemics with Varlaam of Calabria and Akindin. For the purpose of analysis the text of the first composition by Palamas -The lay of the hagiology of the venerable Peter of mount Athos which has been unknown so far for our researchers
