The Russian Orthodox Church, the year 2009, attainment of a new stage of development

Abstract

The article sums up the results of the first year of the Holy Kirill (Gundyaev) in the Moscow Patriarchal throne, marks the basic events that took place over this period of time in the Russian Orthodox Church. A number of experts foresaw that serious changes would take place in the Church life after the election of the new Patriarch, and certain changes really took place. At the same time they proceed smoothly and do not touch the fundamentals on which the church institution is based. These changes are analyzed in the article, besides suppositions are made how the present day processes, developing inside of the church will envelop in the short time prospect.
