Abstract

By way of considering Metropolitan Philaret's (Drozdov) attention towards the works written by European spiritual writers, including F. Fenelon, G. Guion and others, the consecutive interest of the Moscow Sviatitel towards the western theology was traced, first of all it concerns its ascetic aspect, and its prerequisites were revealed (western theology), also its influence on Mitropolitan Philaret stance towards both the representatives of mystic directions in Russia and members of foreign confessions of the Christian West.
