Formulae of the dialog antique genre in the literature of the epoch of Carolingians

Abstract

The genre of a dialogue came into being in Antiquity and was absorbed by the medieval literature. One of the periods of its flourishing was the Carolingian epoch. Dialogues were written in verse as well as in prose. Four types of the dialogue (the philosophical, polemical, didactic ones and the dialogue-vita) were known in the VIII-th -IX-th centuries. All of them, except the polemical dialogue, became models for creating new texts in the given literary genre.
