Social concepts of religious communions in Russia: first steps to self-determination

Abstract

The article gives a comparative analysis of the social concepts of the most significant religious communities in the present day Russia, officially recognized within the period of 2000-2010. The subject under review are the peculiarities of their positions in the issues of their relations with the state and society, rights and freedoms of man, including freedom of conscience and confession, conditions and limits of loyalty of believers to the authorities. An attempt is made to determine to what extent the claimed rights serve as a basis for their socially significant practical work.
