Patriarch Nikon: spiritual light through centuries (ecclesiastical authority as spiritual pillar for all times)

Abstract

The role and significance of Primate and head of the Church in the civil-state life are shown by example of Patriarch Nikon (1605-1681), his life and work, his responsibility for the destiny of the world fro which he had been entrusted to take care of. The article presents the historical source - a brief Life-time record of Patriarch Nikon and gives a review of suppositions of those researchers who spoke about the historic role of the heritage of Patriarch Nikon.
