Heritage of Philaret, Holy hierarch of Moscow, in the light of the Orthodox Hesychast tradition

Abstract

The article analyses the preaching activity and archflameship of Ph. Drozdov, Metropolitan of Moscow, in the context of the Byzantine patristic thoughts. By example of a number of homiletic writings of the Holy hierarch, as well as of his epistolary inheritage, the roots of his views going down into the teaching of the Byzantine fathers-hesychast, have been grounded.
