State, religion, church in political events of the USA

Abstract

The article considers complicated relations between church and state by example of the United States, where multi-faceted religious beliefs of the candidates were revealed in the course of the election campaign. The work analyses approaches to the term “secularism”, to the understanding of notion of the religious “freedom”, to the influence of church on development of the society. The article gives the outspokennesses on a number of issues on the part of Orthodox theologians and philosophers.
