Stages in the religiousness changes in the population of Russia (1989-2006)

Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of the religious dynamics of the population of Russia from 1989 through to 2006. The author suggests that two stages should be studied in this process. The article analyses the results of the two all Russia investigations of the religiousness of the Russian population (2004, 2006) and the dynamics of the religious behavior of the Orthodox respondents within the period from 1992 through to 2006. Also considered are the methodological problems of the public opinion polls of the population religiousness.
