On traditionality of Russian Krishnaism

Abstract

The article covers the study of some aspects of the modern Russian Krisnaism (Vaishnavism). The central in the study is the issue of criteria of traditionality and non-traditionality applied to the mentioned religion. Having done the comparative analyses of the ethical aspects of theory and practice of modern Krishnaites in Russia, the author arrived at the conclusion about non-traditionality of this religion both for the Russian history and culture and relative to the initial Hinduistic tradition of Vishnuism.
