The Slavonic world and Europe

Abstract

The Slavonic world as a community is a geographical structure, it exists owing to its languages. There is a number of geopolitical concepts about the role and significance of the Slavs and the possibility of their unification in the Slavic literature, mainly Russian, political, ideological and historiosophic. The most difficult issue of the unification of the Slavs was and remains geocultural principle. Slavs entered the two national, cultural and confessional communities: Slavia Latina and Slavia Orthodoxa. One of the detailed pictures of setting up of the Slavic world was offered by. Ivan Dusinsky, who wrote Geopolitics of Russia (1910). He asserted that a political union only (the union Pan-Slavic state) is capable once and for all to unite Slavic lands. The main linking idea must be performed by the Russian language as the common language for Slaves (alongside full equality of local languages). The possibility of unification of Slavs under the leadership of Russia after the World War II banned the entering of some Slavic nations into the European Union. A question arises if the Slavs can preserve the common roots, culture, based on Christianity in the light of the new concept of the Uniting Europe or will be regarded as provincial and diehard in secularized Europe?
