Psaltery (Praising the Lord book) within the context of the world literature

Abstract

The article published in the special issue to the journal is devoted to the analysis of spiritual essence and poetics of the great biblical lyrical book - the Book of Praising the Lord or Psalm book and also its reception in the world culture and literature. The book is being analyzed in the original language, in its unity of form and contents. Genesis of tradition of psalm versification and psalm singing, connected with the personality of the Israeli tzar David and also with the ancient musical and poetic traditions of Canaan. A special significance is given to the dialogue between Ego and Eternal You, man and God. The dialogue is most vividly implemented in the Psaltery and it continues to be realized in two monotheist traditions, for which spiritual paradigms and poetry of Psalms have paramount importance - Judaism and Christianity.
