Simeon Polozky and his Rhymed Psalmbook in handwritten musical notation collection

Abstract

The article analyses the peculiarities of psalms versification from the Rhymed Psalmbook by Simeon Polozky. The peculiarities of poetics, structure of the verse, principles of organization of the poetical text in the strophe and the Byelorussian specific features testify to the Byelorussian initial sources of the Rhymed Psalmbook despite the fact that it was created on the Russian national background. A manuscript of the Solovetsky monastery (PHБ OP. Sol. 692/800), timed to 380 years of the birth of the prominent Slavic enlightener-humanitarian Simeon Polozky is published as a special issue to this number of the journal.
