Poetry of Rygor Borodulin within the system of Christian values

Abstract

The paper investigates the problem of relationship between iconography and poetic word on the basis of the works of the poet and graphic colorist R. Borodulin. Pictorial expressiveness of his poetry is conditioned by solving religious doctrine and freedom of artistic creativity problem, and it trends, with the help of hermeneutic method, towards creation of verbal pictorial view. The article presents the main stages of ideological artistic composition creation and introduces some key terms for its explanation: cross shape metaphor, pastoral picture, universal artist, etc. In the authors opinion presenting the paper, evangelic images and plots of R. Borodulins poetry correlate to the canonical genre, the Byzantine iconographic school and Polotsk XI century iconographic tradition.
