Abstract

Cultural background having generated peculiarities of traditional and modern social and cultural position of a woman in the Turkish society is analyzed on the basis of historical, cultural, anthropological and religious approaches. Given are the general principles of law for a woman in Islam with reference to original sources - the Quran and Sunna.
