Role of Synagogue in Russias life: peculiarities and prospects

Abstract

The article analyses the modern view of the Jewish community on society and different spheres of its life, it gives evaluation to the key notions, characterizing the relationship between Synagogue and public institutions. As an appendix the article provides with an interview with rabbin Zinovy Lvovich Kohgan, Chairman of the Congress of Jewish religious organizations and associations of Russia on the subject: The Jewish nation is one big family and an interview with A.V. Glotzer, a spokesman of the chief rabbin of Russia on its ties with public organizations and state organizations on the subject: Religious organization - the basic task of the Jewish community.
