Abstract

This article analyzes Maximus the Confessors response to the invasion of Arab-Muslims into the Byzantine Roman Empire. The article also deals with the place of Islam as an alternative view of the world towards Christian confessions of the 7th century. A hypothesis is made on the issue of the opposition of Islam relative in the first turn to Monothelitism that dominated at that time in Byzantium.
