Social ideal in modern religious conscience

Abstract

The article considers the notions about social ideal in Christianity and in non-Christian denominations. It is highlighted that traditional Christian confessions preserve eschatological perspective in their approach to the Kingdom of God, thus combining traditional ideas of moral self-perfection of a personality as the foundation of the way to the Kingdom of God with the ideas of social activities of a person.. Neo-Christian tendencies are characterized by chiliastic directives, within the frame of those religious and utopian projects of the perfect society and achieving the Kingdom of God in real history are being proclaimed.
