Abstract

The Iranian revolution gave birth to a new political ideology — khomeinism, based on the principles of the Shariat of the Muslim law. The article reveals phenomena of “khomeinizm” as a political religion, political Islam, revolutionary ideology, aimed at retention of power and at changes in the political system of Iran.
