Abstract

The article analyses the issue: «What influences on the occurrence of separation?» considering it as part of an outstanding problem of the unity of the Church and separation in it. Among variety of reasons and factors behind this phenomenon the author makes a special emphases on social issues. Concepts of state and confessional relations are singled out in these social paradigms. Examining the period at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, the author comes to the conclusion about the strong influence of changes in political systems and disintegration of the states and the unions of the states exerted on the separation in Orthodoxy.
