Chinese Orthodoxy: Russian perspective

Abstract

The ongoing crucial changes in the global politics which we witness now, are determined partially by the trends in the religious life. The core of each religious tradition is the spiritual practical experience, which cannot be considered as social phenomenon. The spiritual practical experience, however, actively forms religious traditions which can be considered in social aspect. China, which is undergoing the phases of active changes not only in economic life but in its social system, has become the venue of the active development of the religious life including the Christian one. The article is devoted to the issue of the role and place of orthodoxy in the life of the present day China and perspective of the Russian and Chinese relations.
