The Koran and Koranistics in Russia: experience of interdisciplinary approach towards the study of the Koran

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of origin and development of Koranistics in Russia as an academic discipline. The article gives the information about the first and further translations of the Koran into Russian, about gradual expansion of the subject matter scope in the Koran study as a monument of religious and philosophical thought, literature monument historic source, containing the data about the events, that took place before the Islamic Arabia, as well as the data about how Muslims imagine their sacred history.
