Abstract

The article is devoted to an unexplored topic: anti-renovational activity amidst the Orthodox people environment in 1930-ies. Relying on a new source - the reports of the renovational functioners (bishops and priests), using the documents on anti-renovational activity of the Russian Orthodox Church, the author comes to the conclusion about the significant role of nuns and old maidens in resistance to renovationism.
